Election Commission of India announced bye elections to Karnataka Legislative Council. This sudden announcement of bye elections was because of death of Member of Legislative Assembly Smt. Vimala Gowda. Earlier ECI or Election Commission of India had announced dates for bye elections in three other states in India. As Delhi, Andhra Pradesh and Goa will be going for bye elections on 23 August 2017.

In addition to this these bye elections are for the Karnataka Legislative Council by Members of Legislative Assembly. So every person have to follow all election rules. It is so because only then they can participate in elections. Otherwise they may have to face punishment as well.
